We were proud to present Colorado Star Ball 2007. The response was gratifying with entries from twenty states. We awarded over $70,000 in scholarships and other prize money.
As you might guess, planning is already underway for the 12th annual Colorado Star Ball, June 20-22, 2008 with some very exciting changes.
- PAPER SAVING CAMPAIGN! In an effort to minimize paper usage we are not including our entry forms in this package. If you are planning on attending the Colorado Star Ball this year you can download all the forms at http://www.coloradostarball.com/registration.htm or give us a call at 303-412-1213 and we can fax, mail or email you a complete set of entry forms.
- SCHEDULE CHANGES
- Global Bronze Rhythm Scholarships, Global Silver Rhythm Scholarships, Professional Open American Rhythm, Professional Open International Standardwill be held on Saturday Evening.
- All Pro/Am Latin will be held on Sunday this year!
- Professional American Smooth & Professional International Latin will be held on Sunday Evening.
- NEW EVENTS - MORE SCHOLARSHIP MONEY!! An additional $9,000 to be given away this year! 18 NEW EVENTS THIS YEAR! ALL WITH PRIZE MONEY!!!
- Closed NiteClub Scholarship 3-Dance Challenge (Salsa, Merengue, Hustle) This event will be held on Friday Evening

- Professional Rising Star Events - Standard, Rhythm, Latin & Smooth
- NEW AGE GROUPS Create Twelve additional scholarships this year! We have separated all of the scholarships into 2 age groups – over and under 45.
- THE BEST SHOWS EVER! This year Former World Amateur Latin Champion Riccardo Cocchi is now partnering Current United States Latin Champion Yulia Zagoruchenko. This exciting new partnership is already making waves around the World!!!
- HOTEL: We are remaining at the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech. This is a beautiful hotel with a great room rate, $92 per night plus tax for Colorado Star Ball participants. It is located in the heart of the Denver Tech Center with great clubs & restaurants as well as fantastic shopping at the elegant Park Meadows Mall.
- TOP TEACHER RULES UPDATE FOR 2007: All Top Teacher points per World Pro-Am Dancesport Series rules: In addition to entry and placement points, for every Student that competes at the Colorado Star Ball World Pro-Am DanceSport Series Event and does:
10 Entries | Teacher and Student receive 100 Bonus Points* |
20 Entries | Teacher and Student receives 200 Bonus Points* |
30 Entries | Teacher and Student receives 300 Bonus Points* |
40 Entries | Teacher and Student receives 400 Bonus Points* |
50 Entries | Teacher and Student receives 500 Bonus Points* |
*Please Note: in fairness to our participating Professionals, these bonus points will only be awarded to those Teachers who are competing with their own students at The Colorado Star Ball, a World Pro/Am Dancesport Series event. Professionals who dance with other Professional’s students are not eligible to receive bonus points.
Amateur Couple single dance entries will NOT count toward top teacher prizes, but do count for Top Teacher Bonus money

FIRST DAY OF SUMMER CELEBRATION: Saturday matinee session wear your summer duds, beach clothes, shorts, sun glasses, etc.
WACKY HAT DAY: Sunday matinee session wear your wackiest headgear! Prizes for wackiest hats!

Put the Colorado Star Ball on your calendar and take this opportunity to visit us in Denver. We promise to make your stay and your dancing as enjoyable as possible because we live here and are prejudiced about our beautiful state.
