David Ollington, Instructor of Dance is a performer, teacher, model, and choreographer. For two seasons, he choreographed Amahl and the Night Visitors at the Lyric Opera of Kansas City. His work has been called "riveting" and "brilliantly choreographed" by The Kansas City Star and Dance Magazine said "Theatre dance doesn't get any better." Kansas City audiences have seen him perform at The American Heartland Theatre where he's also choreographed, The New Theatre Restaurant, City in Motion Dance Theatre, The Unicorn Theatre where he played Gregory in Love! Valour! Compassion!, and Starlight Theatre where he's performed with Phyllis Diller, David Birney, David Ogden Stiers and B.D. Wong. He's appeared in commercials for Intrust Bank, Apollo, and Price Chopper. Twice he's been honored to be a part of Contemporary Dance/Fort Worth's Choreographers' Showcase. He has taught Dance at many of the secondary education institutions in Kansas City including The University of Missouri - Kansas City, Avila College, Johnson County Community College, and Kansas City Kansas Community College. A graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy, he holds a BA degree in Theatre from Kansas State University and an MFA in Dance from Texas Christian University. David is a first-degree black belt in Kenpo Karate and is the Dance and Theatre critic for KC Explore Magazine.
