Jessica is experienced in a variety of dance forms, including International and American Style Latin & Ballrooom dancing. She competes professionally in American Rhythm (Cha Cha, Rumba, Swing, Bolero, and Mambo) and Smooth (Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, and Viennese Waltz) with her dance partner, Ross Pearce. Their recent accomplishments include winning 1st place in the 2007 Seattle Star Ball Open Professional American Rhythm, Rising Star Rhythm, and Open Professional Showdance events, and 1st Place in the 2007 Vancouver Open Professional American Rhythm event.
Jessica has been dancing since the age of seven and began competing professionally in 2003. She teaches students of all ages and levels, and is available for Pro/Am competition. Jessica is a Member of the U.S. Terpsichore Association in Latin and Theater Arts, and an Associate of the Terpsichore in Standard and Smooth.
Jessica's early dance experience was in classical ballet. In high school, she trained intensively at a performing arts conservatory, dancing corps and soloist roles in classical repertoire including Giselle, Swan Lake Act II, Carmen, La Bayadere, Nutcracker, Les Sylphides, and Coppelia. She has also studied a variety of other dance forms, including modern (Graham), character dance, Spanish flamenco dance, and Irish step dancing. Since coming to ballroom, Jessica has trained with numerous nationally and internationally respected coaches.
In addition to her dance training, Jessica holds a BA in history from the University of Washington. She was born and raised in the Seattle area.
