Joyce Yagerline, Associate Professor and Director of Dance at K-State, received her M.F.A. from Texas Woman's University and her B.A. from Butler University. She has danced professionally with the Oakland Ballet, Evansville Dance Theatre, Dayton Ballet, Tulsa Ballet Theatre, and San Antonio Ballet. While living in the San Francisco Bay Area, she was a guest with the Redwood Empire Ballet, Koncertanz, and the California Artist Series. Her training includes scholarships at the Washington School of Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet School, School of the Hartford Ballet, as well as the Joffrey Workshop in San Antonio. While at the Oakland Ballet, she has worked with Nicholas (Papa) Beriosov, Ruthanna Boris, Betsey Erickson, Frederic Franklin, Ronn Guidi, Irina Nijinska, Howard Sayette, and Patrice Whiteside. Presentations on Pilates-based Conditioning, as well as on ballet pedagogy, have been given at several conferences, including the National Dance Association, the Symposium on Dance Science & Related Topics, the Symposium on the Science and Somatics of Dance, and at CORPS de Ballet International. She has been a guest teacher for Les Ballets Grandiva in New York, the City of Angels Ballet in California, and the Wakaba Dance Academy in Japan. Her university guest teaching includes master classes at the University of New Mexico, University of Texas at Austin, Wichita State University, Northwest Missouri State University, as well as in the Central Region of the American College Dance Festival Association. Her choreography has been performed by the Vallejo Ballet.
