Karen Williamson began her dance training in Cincinnati with Annalisa VonOttengen. Further study continued at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music where she studied Ballet with Oleg Sabline, David Mclain and Modern dance (Horton Technique) with James Truitte. Her professional experience includes dancing with Dayton Contemporary Dance Company under Jeraldyn Blunden and with Milton Meyers director of Joyce Trisler Danscompany ( 1986) in Trisler's "Rites of Spring" in New York City. Karen has taught Horton technique as a guest in New York and in Taiwan. Previous to her appointment at Northern Illinois University she has taught at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.
