Neil Dunn is Dance Production Coordinator and instructor at KSU. In addition to overseeing aspects of production, concert promotion, and community outreach, Neil teaches Rhythmic Notation and Composition and provides musical accompaniment for dance technique classes. Neil earned a Master of Music with Percussion Emphasis from the University of Arizona in 2002. Neil currently serves as Principal Timpanist for the Arizona Opera Company and Ballet Tucson orchestras. From 2000 to 2005, Neil was senior dance accompanist at the University of Arizona, Dance Division. Since 1994, Neil has worked extensively with Dance as a composer and performer and has performed internationally. Ah Ha! (Typhoid Stella) was premiered with choreography in Banyoles, Catalonia, Spain in July, 2006. Echos: Episode 1, for Percussion, Tap Dance, and Tape was premiered in Taipei, Taiwan in May 2005. Neil has credit for several other compositions for dance. Neil has performed and played master classes regularly at the American College Dance Festival Association festivals across the Southwest and Midwest. Neil has credit for numerous collaborations with student dance choreographers at the University of Arizona, Weber State University, and local dance companies in Tucson, AZ including ZUZIMoveit! Dance Company and NewARTiculations dance company. Neil is also currently finalizing work on a CD for dance class and a series of “customized” CDs for dance class.
