Description
Rebekah Davidson
Rebekah Davidson grew up in Southern California attending the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts. She completed a B.F.A. in two parts starting at the University of California of Berkeley and finishing at the University of Texas in Austin. During postgraduate life in Austin, she performed with Stillpoint Dance Company, produced her own work in the Austin Festival of Dance, and produced her own collective dance shows at Cafe Dance with Kate Warren. She then went to New York City studying with Martha Meyers Choreolab, producing her work at the Carmine Gym, and performing at the Joyce Soho. Since moving back to Southern California, she has danced with Liz Hoefner and Cid Pearlman/Nesting Dolls at the Skirball, Highways Performance Space, and Loyola Marymount University, and produced her own work at the Electric Lodge, in the Festival of Solo's and Duets, Max 10, and the South Coast Dance Arts Alliance Festival. Rebekah has taught beginning ballet for adults through the University of Texas Extension Classes, dance for children through Jaques D'Amboise's National Dance Institute, and creative movement for kids at Ballet Austin.
She thanks her favorite teachers/mentors/collaborators with whom she has studied over the years including Helga de Kansky, Don Bondi, Bella Lewitzky, Marni Wood, Lori Wilson, Jose Bustamente, Lyn Wilshire, Kate Warren, Kathy Dunn-Hamrick, Martha Meyers, Yacov Sharir, Doug Varone, Francis Craig, Zvi Gotheiner, Gabe Masson, Maria Gillespie, Faye Driscoll, Carmela Herman, and the faculty of CSULB where she is currently pursuing her M.F.A. in Dance.RebekahDavidson Gifts
